Love is in the air

Paris!

Oui, Oui Paris has arrived and I actually have internet in my room to update my blog. We arrived in Paris yesterday by Eurostar rail and right when we got thru the English Channel I could tell we were not in the UK anymore. I love this city! Don't get me wrong, London was uniquely awesome but I have already been there before and everything felt like Disneyland for some reason, long lines, tourists galore with cameras around their necks and theme park advertising. Paris is a new city that I have never explored. I speak no French whatsoever but figuring out our way or just getting lost and seeing the true heart of the city is amazing. This city has so much to offer from the delicious food (aka pastries), historical buildings and areas mixed in with French cultured stores and people. One huge difference from London is that the people here don't seem as happy, but I am saying that from observation from the underground. Btw the underground is a train with tires that drives on the track! Fashion is a huge part of Paris life and I agree that Paris-ers are fashionable but it seems more laid back than London, not many men in suits or women in dress attire, more summer dresses and cute jeans. I will need to alter my wardrobe a bit to fit into Prague, which btw I am sooooo excited to finally be there!

Lettme tell you about Paris! Our hotel is awesome and we are on the 15th floor with a beautiful view of the city. The door to walk into the hotel has an eiffel tower in the middle of it. It is one of those spiny doors. Everyone seems so friendly and always says "madame." The French language is beautiful and I lowkey want to learn it but I think Spanish is first on my list and some Czech would be helpful. Anyways, the first day I saw the Eiffel Tower from a distance but got to see a square of a 360 view of monuments, the outside of the Louvre, bought some street art, and walked thru Notre Dame. Lettme talk about that! Notre Dame is gorgeous. The inside has little outlets with stained glass and symbolic religious features. There was no mass at the time but I still felt as if I was in one. The surrounding area was really cute with cobble stone streets, restaurants, street vendors, and shops. Walking is the norm here so everyone seems to be in great shape and tan! Speaking of that, it has been around 88 degrees with 88% humidity here. It really isn't that bad to be honest, the sun rays are refreshing. All the fountains around the Louvre were occupied with people cooling off and tanning. The atmosphere is so calming and refreshing here! I am in love.

Today was the Louvre trip and people were not kidding when they said you might not be able to finish it in a day. We were there for 6 hours or so and still didn't see the top level. The place is huge! Every room is so different and a lot of the rooms were decorated a way I had never seen before at a museum. I can't really describe it but I have pictures to show for it. I will keep the blog updated for Paris.
